Won’t you cost too much?

As I’m sure you tell your customers, it’s all about value and the return on investment.  My daily rate isn’t cheap and I’m sure your time is valuable too!  What I can say is that I only want to work for you if I’m delivering much more value than I cost.  And I recognise that the only real way to judge that is in practice.  So I’ve designed my commercial terms to allow you to assess that at minimal risk.  Read the rest of this page to find out how.

Do I have to commit now, or can I get to know you better first?
Don’t worry.  I’d never want you to be keeping me because you’d signed a contract. I believe in win:win business models where you’re happy to pay me because I deliver more value than I cost.

Whilst to allow me to plan my availability for customers like you, I ask you to order a number of days in advance, we start with a notice period that equals the number of days worked.  So after the first day, I only expect you to give me one days notice.  After the second, two days etc.  And that caps out at ten days.  That way you’re never more than ten days from terminating me.  And I never bill the last day, so if you don’t like me at the end of day one, you don’t pay anything at all.

Won’t I be paying for you to learn?
You won’t pay for my learning.  In addition to the above mechanism designed to avoid you being committed when you don’t want to be, I give you 20% discount on the initial number of days you order to cover my learning curve.

What if you take up too much of my time?
Whilst it is inevitable that I do need a little time to get up to speed, I won’t need long. I am fortunate that in addition to fantastic training and a lot of experience as a Managing Director and a Chief Executive, I spent much of my early career providing services to businesses that involved me in understanding their business and the way their processes, systems and departments work.

This insight from experience covers a vast range of businesses so from funeral directors to financial services; from manufacturers to PR agencies and from IT software specialists to toy retailers, so you’ll find I’m quick to understand the key dynamics of your business.

Whether the challenge is with blue chip multinationals, medium sized businesses with hundreds of staff or a small / start-up SME, you’ll find I’m familiar with the territory.

Won’t you distract my team by borrowing their watches to tell me the time?
Your team won’t need to educate me either.  With my background of top class training and education and ten years in general management, I understand well the workings of every business function.  Your marketing, sales, finance, HR, IT, customer service and operations specialists will find I know enough to deliver value pretty quickly.
